Seven retiring LEGO sets that are likely to jump in price

Seven retiring LEGO sets that are likely to jump in price

Dozens of LEGO sets are slated to retire in July, and these are the seven we reckon are most likely to jump in price not long after…

Not every LEGO set climbs in value on the aftermarket, especially not immediately after retirement, and some can even be had at or below RRP months or even years after they’ve left shelves. That’s truer still in an age where so-called ‘investors’ are stocking up on sets in an effort to cash in on those ancient ‘LEGO is a better investment than gold’ headlines. (Greater aftermarket supply equals less demand.)

And yet… there are still some LEGO sets that do jump in value once they leave retail stores, whether that’s because they’re part of a wider collection, enjoyed fewer discounts while on shelves or just belong to a theme that historically performs well on the aftermarket. We’ve picked out seven sets from those retiring next month that we suspect may rise in price pretty quickly – so if you want them, now’s the time to get them.

76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile

There are more large-scale Batmobiles at this point than even the most diehard DC collector will know what to do with, which may be part of the reason 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile has flown largely under the radar since dropping in September 2024.

It’s now retiring less than two years later, and with one eye on the aftermarket prices of other big Batmobiles, this one feels like an aftermarket bomb waiting to go off.

21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon's Tale

You don’t really need us to tell you that LEGO castle equals big bucks (just look at the BrickLink Designer Program), and so it goes that 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon's Tale stands a good chance of rising in price the moment it sells out at LEGO.com.

10305 Lion Knights’ Castle is already reaching above RRP and that one enjoyed a good few discounts – the D&D set hasn’t really had the same luxury…

76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition

LEGO Harry Potter 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition review-2

Okay, we’re cheating a bit here: it’s pretty obvious that 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors' Edition is going to jump in price, because it’s already happened in the US.

The LEGO Harry Potter set has been temporarily out of stock since Black Friday stateside, only occasionally and briefly popping up again, and at the time of writing there are only three copies in the US on BrickLink starting at $675 apiece. Expect the same thing to happen elsewhere.

76435 Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall

The largest new section of the current modular Hogwarts system has only just landed on shelves, but one of the most integral pieces of this magical puzzle has already sold out for good at LEGO.com in the US – and like Gringotts, prices are already skyrocketing.

76435 Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall is on back order until July 10 in the UK at the time of writing, so don’t sleep on it if you want to start or complete this collection.

10323 PAC-MAN Arcade

We rebuilt LEGO Icons 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade - review and gallery title

We’re going out on a limb here slightly, but our gut feeling is that 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade is going to be a future white whale for many – and with discounts on this one few and far between for the three years it’s spent on shelves, we wouldn’t be surprised to see its aftermarket price rise exponentially.

And while it’s not quite part of a series, the LEGO Group does reportedly have other arcade-style sets on the cards for later this year…

76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)

LEGO-Speed-Champions-76917-2-Fast-2-Furious-Nissan-Skyline-GT-R-R34-review-29

If you were at all involved in the LEGO community when 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) first launched, you’ll have seen the furore surrounding this LEGO Speed Champions set. Collectors were snapping it up left, right and centre, and it was out of stock at LEGO.com and even third-party retailers for months after the fact.

It’s now been on shelves for three and a half years and has seen plenty of discounts, but with one eye on other LEGO Speed Champions sets too, we reckon there’ll be plenty of life in this one post-retirement.

77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1

LEGO Legend of Zelda 77092 Great Deku Tree 2 in 1 4

Last but not least, the first-ever LEGO The Legend of Zelda set is retiring this July, and thanks to a combo of a lukewarm reception to the design (and particularly the price) and relatively few discounts – it was exclusive to Amazon in the UK, so never really dipped below 15% off – it’s tough to imagine there are giant stockpiles of 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 sitting around ready to flood the market. Just saying.

Head here for a complete list of LEGO sets scheduled to retire in July 2026, and let us know in the comments if there are any others you think may rise in value once they’re gone for good – and which fellow collectors should therefore be targeting now…
